Shree SURYANARAYANA TEMPLE NARAVI KARNATAKA
Lord Suryanarayana is the main deity of Shree Suryanarayana temple of Naravi. Main deity is said to be belonging to 14th century and now the temple has undergone a complete renovation with a brand new look. Rameraguthu family in naravi was one of the Prestigious and household names during those times. Saathvi Ramaadevi belonging to this prominent family was a diehard devotee of Sun God. She always used to have her food after she catches the sight of Sun God rising in the sky. However at times, during monsoon, due to Fog and clouds around, she could not view the glimpse of Sun God. This made her to starve days together. She was determined to go hungry till she could see the panoramic sight of Sun God. This continued for a longer duration, but her willpower and her determination was unshakable. Lord Sun observed her dedication and her strength of character and blessed her in her dream telling "Hey Saathvi Ramaadevi, I am pleased of your devotion and determination. Henceforth you never have to wait for my raise in sky, rather I will settle down my celestial force here in this region. South western part of this holy land lays a river and adjoining to it you will find a celestial power in the form of Suryanarayana deity. Traditionally install this deity by creating a Garbhagraha surrounding it. I will submerge myself there and will bless you. You can worship me daily here by establishing a traditional "Mandal" using panchavarna soil. I will reside in this region to bless the mankind ".With this Saathvi Ramaadevi religiously followed Lord Suryanarayana's instruction and gathered prominent thantriks and archakas to perform as said by Lord Suryanarayana. During this occasion, a young Brahmin who was part of this occurrence had a tremendous energy evolving from his body. Everyone out there was surprised by this spiritual happening. Saathvi Ramaadevi requests this young brahmin about him. Young brahmin utters "Na Ravi, Na Ravi" (Means "I am Sun" in kannada). After this episode, this place was known to be "Na Ravi" and eventually it became "Naravi".
Naravi is a Village in Dakshina Karanataka district in the foot hills of the Western Ghats. It is 20 Kms from Karkala towards Dharmasthala. Naravi is also well known for Sri Venu Gopal Krishna temple.

On 02 04 22 Saturday, I had darshan along with family, proceeding from Sringeri. It is a hilly terrain and we covered the distance in an hour and 15 Min. It is better to get the Pooja materials before proceeding to Naravi as no shops are near the temple.
